Stop Blaming Your Hypertherm Powermax 45. The Machine Wasn't the Problem.

And no, laser cutters aren't useless. I still use mine most weeks. The machine is a tool, not a magic wand. Feed it the wrong settings and it'll turn your expensive hardwood into charcoal. That's operator error, not a defective tool.

Fix the Process, Not the Purchase

After three expensive mistakes in 2024, I finally wrote a pre-cut checklist. It's embarrassingly simple:

Verify consumables against the Powermax 45 Hypertherm manual. Check air pressure and air quality. Run a test cut on scrap. Confirm material and thickness. Measure the first piece before running the batch.
